Description/Blazon
A Gold metal and enamel device 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Azure, a lifting platform Sable fimbriated roped and hooked Or, carrying a cask of the like banded of the second; a chief wavy of the third. Attached below and to the sides of the shield a Gold scroll inscribed "UBIQUE PATRIAM REMINISCI" in Black letters.

Symbolism
The blue of the shield, indicating the ocean, and platform and cask refer to the activities of the 392d Quartermaster Battalion (Port). The motto translates to "Remember Your Country Everywhere."

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved for the 392d Quartermaster Battalion on 12 December 1941. It was redesignated for the 392d Transportation Battalion on 28 December 1967.
